WHAT IS Vampire Facial ®?
The Vampire Facial ® also known as Platelet Rich Plasma-PRP, utilizes your own blood to activate your body’s healing ability stimulating skin recovery and rejuvenation. The PRP extracted from your blood contains a number of different growth factors that stimulate collagen production, skin renewal, cell growth, and tissue regeneration.
PRP procedure will leave your skin feeling tighter, plumper, evenly toned, glowing, but most importantly healthier and rejuvenated.
Platelet Rich Plasma-PRP treatment has been used for more than 20 years to accelerate the healing of wounds, burnt skin, and help athletes with joint and muscle injuries. But it was when Dr. Charles Runels developed the technique using PRP and trademarked the name “Vampire Face Lift®” in 2010 that the craze for the Vampire Facial ® and Vampire Face Lift® began after many Hollywood celebrities were treated with these procedures.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH Vampire Facial ®?
PRP can be injected in any part of the body. However, the The Vampire Facial ® procedure focused on facial areas such as the cheeks, forehead, temples, nasolabial folds, nose, lips, chin and below the eyes.
How is the The Vampire Facial ® procedure done?
1. Isolating the Magic from Your Blood:
First, the physician draws your blood from your arm (just like getting a blood test done).
Then, using a centrifuge, the physician isolates platelets from that blood (platelet-rich plasma or PRP) containing the growth factors.
A Dermapen or microneedle system is used to stimulate healing and absorption of the PRP. This triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin improving the color and texture of the skin.
3. Coating and Soaking Your Face with Blood-Derived Growth Factors:
These growth factors present in the PRP then activate multipotent stem cells already in the skin (tricking them into “thinking” there’s been an injury and new younger tissue should generated).
The multipotent stem cells then develop into new collagen, new blood vessels, and new fatty tissue trying to “repair” the skin that was never injured.
The result…younger-appearing skin!
The effects of the procedure continue to improve for 2 to 3 months and last for most people at least 1 to 2 years.
WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE AND AFTER THE Vampire Facial ®?
- Your skin will be cleansed and numbed with a topical anesthetic
- A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm
- Your blood is spun in a medical centrifuge to separate red blood cells and platelets
- A Dermapen with microneedles is used on your face
- The isolated PRP containing the Growth Factors is then injected and/or coated on your face
After the treatment, expect some mild swelling, and redness, which fades within 1-3 days for most people.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN Vampire Facial ® AND Vampire Face Lift®?
The Vampire Facial ® – involves the use of microneedles to open small channels on the skin for deep penetration. The tiny micro perforations made by the Dermapen allow for easier absorption of your own Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP); hence the name Vampire Facial ®.
The Vampire Face Lift® – This procedure use your own Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), which is then injected sub-dermally or under the skin. Whereas the Vampire Facial ® is topical in nature, the Vampire Face Lift® is injected under the skin and typically involves the injection of a filler such as Juvéderm XC.
